An extensive two-month journey around the Land Down Under was terminated days after the death of an senior female passenger who was stranded by the ship on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been trekking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the vessel, but broke off from the party for a break. The vessel departed without her and returned after some time after the personnel became aware the woman was unaccounted for.

A large-scale hunt located her person the following day.

Officials are looking into the event, alongside investigators and the official investigator.

Head of the cruise operator said that travelers and personnel on the vessel were notified that the continuation of the journey had been called off due to the "tragic passing and earlier engine troubles".
